The SALZBURG TRAILRUNNING FESTIVAL is the trail season finale in Austria! For three days, Salzburg offers everything a "trail heart" desires!
And we promise, you've definitely never seen Salzburg like this before. This weekend you can experience the Mozart city of Salzburg from a completely new perspective. Whether along the Salzach, over spiral staircases and narrow streets to the Hohensalzburg Fortress or over steep climbs to Salzburg's local mountain; varied trails, a unique backdrop and a fantastically beautiful panorama quickly make the effort a minor matter.
The large selection of competitions offers the right distance for every performance class.

Nightrun
The Nightrun opens the trail running weekend in Salzburg and is a leisurely kick-off competition. Thanks to its short and flat route, this competition is manageable for everyone.
Experience the unique atmosphere at night
First the runners run to the Salzach and along the quay to the Müllnersteg. The route then leads through the beautiful Mirabell Gardens and the historic Steingasse. Returning via the Salzach, you walk through the Nonntal district, from there you go up to Nonnberggasse, from where you have a beautiful view over the roofs of Salzburg. Via Festungsgasse you come back to Kapitelplatz. An atmospheric finish line between the cathedral and Hohensalzburg Fortress awaits you at Kapitelplatz!
Afterwards you can celebrate at the live concert on Kapitelplatz!

The Saturday morning invites you to a Trail & Talk with professional athletes from the German-speaking area and the presentation of the Austria Trail Awards.
In the early afternoon, our little heroes bring Kapitelplatz to life when they give their best on the children's trails.
Panoramic route in the middle of the old town with a unique finish at the fortress!
Numerous sights such as the Salzburg Cathedral, the Festspielhaus, the Modern Museum, Mönchstein Castle, the Richterhöhe, Nonnberg Abbey, the Kaiviertel, Mozartplatz and Residenzplatz lure you along the panorama and fortress trail!
The finish of the Festungstrail in Hohensalzburg Fortress is unique in the world - a real highlight!
Mountainair
On Sunday we head out to the city mountains of Salzburg.
For the Gaisbergtrail you have to have all facets of a trail runner!
After starting at Kapitelplatz, you quickly leave the city trails and walk along the most beautiful city mountains in the city of Salzburg with wonderful views of the city of Mozart. You can explore the Kapuzinerberg and the Gaisberg up to 1,288 meters above sea level via numerous steps and stairs. The downhill over 800 meters is a real challenge before the final kilometers along the Salzach take you back to the old town.
Get prepared!
With the Salomon Trailwochen you will be optimally prepared. Join the 6 preparation workshops with keynote speeches, product tests and a run together as a group.
In addition there will be different presents for the participants every week and you can win a Salomon running shoe!
We will meet an certain thursdays from mid of September at 7:30 pm!
Participation is for free and we will run in different groups according to speed!
